Welcome to My Personal Page
I'm participating in the Hanover Walk-A-Mile In Her Shoes 2020 A Virtual Event Friday, August 14, 2020 in Hanover. This is an event that brings together a community of passionate and diverse individuals to connect and raise funds that will help support victims of domestic violence. YWCA Hanover Safe Home provides services to nearly 1,500 survivors every year.
In this event, men walk a mile in high heels to support victims of family violence in the Greater Hanover Community. I'm looking for people to sponsor me as I raise money for the YWCA Safe Home.
In 2013, I raised $2100 wearing a dress, hat and wig. In 2014, I raised over $2300 as a Bride. In 2015, I dressed up as a Prom Queen and raised over $2400. In 2016, I had double knee replacement and couldn’t walk, but still supported the cause, raising $760. In 2017, I raised over $2800 as “Wonder Woman” and in 2018 I raised over $2000 as "Snow White". Last year as "Nurse Nancy" I raised over $2600. Since the Event started in 2013 and with lot's of support from friends, family and acquaintances, I have raised over $15,000 for this worthy cause.
This year I will be walking as "Rosie the Riveter". I choose Rosie because she came through for the country during the trying times of World War II. Today the world and our country are facing trying times with the Covid-19 virus. We need another strong effort by strong people as represented by Rosie to defeat this pandemic.
With this pandemic, I feel the need is even greater than in the past since everyone is facing stressful situations they have never encountered before. This stress can lead to an increase in domestic abuse.
I ask for your support, as I raise money to support the YWCA Hanover/Safe Home and their efforts in addressing domestic abuse.
I plan to walk a mile in my neighborhood or in downtown Hanover on August 14. Of course, this will be done with social distancing.
If you would like to help me in this great cause you may donate in the following ways:
1. Make cash donation to me.
2. Write a check to YWCA Hanover/WAM and give or mail to me at 401 Chapelwood Drive, Hanover PA 17331 or mail/take a check to the YWCA and tell them it is in support of me.
3. Donate Here by clicking on the donate button on this page.
Thank you in advance for your support.
